“We could eat French food or hit a greasy diner…

He can guzzle beer somethin' finerYou give me any grief he'll give you a shiner” ~ The Rugburns, My Boyfriend

I enjoy fine dining and look forward to those times when Limey and I will eat at a nice restaurant, but last night could not have been more perfect for what was dealt. It was low key and relaxed, tasty, fun, and sweet.

BBQ at a mostly empty establishment is a far cry from the typical Valentine’s Day fiasco. There have been times when I’ve made reservations months in advance and been disappointed with the special menu or the noisy room requiring any sweet nothing to be screamed into the other’s ear. This was not the case. Sure it was BBQ and we could get that at any point in time- but we can also eat that fancy dinner without the hearing loss and boisterous crowd full of 20-year-old fraternity/sorority couples dry humping at the low-lit tables.

We exchanged gifts- or at least what was available at the time! Limey got his long-awaited Christmas beanie just in time for a cold spell, and a card about watching baseball naked… and a TBA other gift that has not arrived as of yet. He made- yes, MADE the most perfect card that totally makes me break into smile when I think about it… and a TBA something or other that isn’t finished yet. How f-ing fitting is it that we are both late with gifts?

No pressure, just thoughtfulness and being together. This is what the day should be about.

Now onto Steak and a BJ Day- March 14th!

Now onto Steak and a BJ Day- March 14th!

I almost blew soup out of my nose when I read that. I had to read it twice, then the soup almost made the trip.

Sounds like a nice time. I f-ed up Valentine's Day...thank God my wife understands me.

You know, that's really all that matters. VD is really overrated, when it's good, it's one good day. When it's bad, it shouldn't mean more than any other bad day.

I was serious about March 14th... it's about time I have a boy around to celebrate this with!

In honour of such a great holiday, I offer the following Not-For-Hallmark greetings….

It’s March 14th
You know what that means
I’ll gobble your knob
And juggle your beans
Now eat your steak
Like a good little chum
And when you’re all finished
I’ll swallow your cum!
